Problems importing Lightroom catalog
I am trying to import a Lightroom catalog to Capture One Pro 8.0.
The Lightroom catalog contains 20874 images, mostly Fujfilm, Canon, Leica and Sony raw files, plus some jpeg's and some tiff's. No PSD's. The Lightroom catalog filesize is 910MB. There are no missing files, and the Lightroom application is closed.
After choosing File > Import Catalog > Another Catalog and choosing the Lightroom catalog (after optimizing it) the process starts - saying "Reading XXXXX of 20874 catalog items - about 40 minutes 9 seconds left".
The import process keeps on going, and then all of a sudden, it stops with the following message after about 15 minutes:
So according to Capture One - It think's that everything is successful, when many files are missing... No error message, no nothing. I've tried doing this many many times now with the same thing happening over and over.
Are there some log files that I can check? Where are they located, and what log file should I check? Can I upload some of the log files here?
I am using Windows 8.1 64-bit with all the latest updates, I have 32GB of RAM, and a AMD R9 290X OpenCL capable card. My images are located on a 1TB SSD, and there are no filesystem errors or system errors. I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling Capture One Pro and I still get the same errors. I have tried exporting the Lightroom catalog to a new catalog as well, so that Lightroom rebuilds everything into a new catalog, and still experience the same error.

Quick guess - have you checked all camera models are supported? It may be skipping raw files it cannot read properly. Those would be silently ignored (at least they were in previous versions).

Yes, all cameras should be supported:
Canon EOS 40D
Canon EOS 60D
Fujifilm X-Pro1
Fujifilm X-E1
Fujifilm X100S
Sony A7S
Leica M Monochrom
Leica M9
Leica M Typ 240
If only it could give me some feedback on what file it fails on... And not just stop after 30% completion and say everything is fine!0 -
I've got a different problem. When important a catalog exported from Lightroom, I get the message about a lot of "XXX incompatible files not imported". Is there any way for me to see that list of files so I can try to figure out what's going on? 0 -
I've got the same problem 😕 0 -
I also have the same problem. Import stops after ca 800 pictures, while library contains over 100.000 pictures. No error messages ... 0 -
Same problem here...
Does anyone from Capture One monitor these forums to see if there's any problems that they might deem necessary to fix?0 -
There does certainly appear to be a problem with catalogs. In my case I've important my NEF library.
There are 3 Nikon bodies
There are multiple Nikkors
Most CNX2 edits had previously been removed from their respective NEFs
There maybe some residue Nikon Capture NX2 / ratings tags (different from Capture NX2)
There are a number of colour / rating tags nomencaltures in the NEFs, certainly VNX2 and various CNX2 ones
I'm evaluating Media Pro.
Media Pro 100% gets everything right, colour / ratings tags, plus most importantly the numbers of NEF in a given folder. Total confidence inspiring.
I just find Capture One 8.1 not inspiring confidence in this department. I want to love it lots, lots more and I am doing so as I ascend it's learning curve and develop my appreciate of its capabilities. But do I want to turn this into 'marriage? For better for worse?
My hope / wish is that Media Pro is reversed into Capture One. No more MP, an awesome CO.0
