tethering 8.1
Hi guys,
installed c8.1 and it's more snappy then previous.
Today I had 2 shoots and during both shoots C1 crashed like 25 times!!!
It's not that when you press this C1 will crash... just doing ordinary tethering and it will crash.
I am using Yosemite latest updates on MBC Retina and C1 8.1
Am I the only one with problems here?

Hi Stefan,
What's your camera brand? This is what I can say about Canons:
I've shot 2 shootings with 2 different Canons, tethering with CO Pro 8.1, Yosemite 10.10.1 on MacBook Pro 5,2 (mid 2009), active 10m USB extension cable. No crashes, perfect job.
Also worked fine in a test shooting on MacBook Pro Retina 11,3 (mid 2014), same software, same gear.
But you better set camera AUTO POWER OFF to OFF. If not, and the camera powered itself off, disconnect the camera, close CO. Then wake the camera, re-connect it and start CO again. Otherwise CO will hang or crash.

Thanks Hans,
Have not set the auto power off.. but during the shoot with Canon 1dx C1 crashes and will not receive photo's that are taken.
Heard an idea on deleting the software and settings instead of overwriting old version with new one?
Also tried to restart mac but still same problem0 -
First, please do send the crash reports when asked to do so, with comments if you are able to make them. The reports contain the necessary information for Phase One to solve the issue and are always analyzed. You already may have done this.
Second, some cleanup can help. A new install can help, a reset of preferences, new session or catalog to shoot to, shoot to internal disk only and so on. Mac clean up like repair disk permissions (Disk Utility) can be a great help to.0 -
@ Stefan:
I´ve been tethering my 1Dm3 and 1DX without problems recently, on my MBP 5,2. I'll check with the 11,3 Retina, but I don't remember having any problems with tethering on it.
Just for tracing the problem:
Could you check the camera icon in the top left icon bar during tethered shooting? It's light gray with the camera attached correctly, but darkens when the camera is disconnected or powered down. If there is a connection problem between camera and Mac, you would see it toggeling between available and unavailable every once in a while.
I have seen this before, that's why I'm asking. And it was reproducibly producing an unresponsive CO.
