Blanks when browsing folder of jpegs

I use C1 to make contact sheets, when browsing a folder of jpegs there (I'm currently looking at a folder of 27 jpegs all around 2mb each) there are several blanks where the thumbnail should be, this also prints a blank on the contact sheet.
I've trashed the C1 settings in the folder I'm browsing but still get the same results.
Browsing RAW files is fine.

    Are the jpegs CO6 is missing created with CO6? If yes, any processing done with it afterwards? Can you view these jpegs with Finder and Preview?
