I have developed a similar problem and posted a thread here on de-activation. My issue is directly related, apparently, to a new eSATA external drive. I re-built my system in November due to mainboard failure. I installed a new hard drive and did not have any problems with C1, or any other software until this week.

Not only has C1 deactivated itself two times, so has PhotoShop CS2. I think it is related to the eSATA drive. I have shut this drive down and I have not had a repeat of the issue.

I was also told by tech support that the current version of C1 is having de-activation issues and that version 4 of the software would change that. Whether or not it fixes the issue remains to be seen.

I had my C1 crap out at the worst possible time...when I had a job to process! Phase One tech support did come to the rescue with a new activiation, but that still does not solve the issue.

I have a new 500GB drive for back-up and I am afraid to use it.

What a load. I hate this activation stuff. It apparently only punishes the honest folks who pay full price for their software. The dishonest folks use dishonest means to avoid the activation issue.

At least Adobe had a solution in the form of a patch for their activation scheme. I hope that works.

Good luck to us all...we will need it.
