C1 7 Completely Unusable...Keeps Crashing on Mac OS 10.6.8
Just Upgraded from C1 6 to C1 7.2.3. The program keeps crashing. I even uninstalled the entire program and deleted all the library files etc as per uninstall directions. I ran 'Verify Permissions". I reinstalled and it still keeps crashing. It does not matter if I use a Catalog or a Session, it still crashes. It is completely unusable at this point. I am running Mac OS 10.6.8. with 64GB memory and loads of Hard Drive Space. This is a 6 core Xeon Machine. I have submitted numerous crash reports as per the end of each crash. I am not running MacKeeper or any other MAlware Blocker or Anti-Virus.

I have the same problem with constant crashing upon import or deleting a folder etc. In fact, photographer Joey L even had mentioned crashing issues on his version of C1 Pro with it on his Creative Live session. In fact, C1 Pro is the only Mac program that constantly crashes on 10.9.4 and reminds me of my old Dell with Windows. 0 -

Upgrade your OS X to 10.9.4. Version 10.6.8 is not supported.0 -

If you have constant crashes with CO7 on 10.9.4 you might be best helped by creating a support case. Some quick checks:
Is CO7 up to date? Done repair permissions recently?0 -
I may have solved the problem by uninstalling 7.2.3 and installing 7.2.2. So far seems to be working fine. I do not want to upgrade the OS as I have some components that will not operate at that level of OS.
I believe the 7.2.3 version to have an issue.0 -

It sounds like your other components have issues too.
Are you able to fix those so that you can update to later version of the OS?

My Other components do not have issues nor do they crash. They have just not been updated for the new OS as of yet and possibly never will be which will cause me to find an alternative solution for those components.
Make no mistake, "Crashing" and "Not updated" for the new OS versions are completely different things. When I purchase a program I expect it to work. BTW....7.2.2 is crashing also but not near as often as 7.2.3. After a few weeks I might try Version 8.0 -
Upgrade. Your Mac obviously has a bad install and improper components because this should not happen with any Phase One product. Try a clean install of Mavericks and get back to us. Or get a new Mac. [quote="NNN634248658427489185" wrote:

That situation is exactly what I meant. There is incompatibility in the needs of your various applications and the level of system support available. Unless Apple (in this case) can provide tools to get you around the problems with their latest updates as far as your older products are concerned you have to make a choice between supporting your other components or adopting the latest releases of C1. If the other components take precedence at this time then you C1 updates may need to be postponed until the other components have been updated to Apple's latest standards.
I had the same decision to make (as a Windows users) when V7 was released. It is 64 bit only and I had machines that really would not perform well and were only 32 bit. It cost me a significant amount to upgrade but the results and performance gain were worth the cost and I fully understand why Phase had to make the decision they did.
