Why isn't icon & text fixed yet in "customize toolbar" ?

I have decided to break down and learn CO4 so I can upgrade to Snow Leopard, but the lack of icon & text view in customize toolbar makes my learning of this program all the more difficult.

It seems like a minor detail that would be so simple to fix... the basics of a good user interface and software developer 101.

What is the holdup on this simple feature?

    Do a control (or right) click on the tool bar and you'll be able to choose icon and text and icons size as well…
    at least in C1 v 4.8.3

    I'm currently using 4.8.3 and Snow Leopard 10.6.1. it does not now, nor has it ever worked for me. I try to choose text and icon and it just snaps back to icon only.

    maybe another bug of Snow Leo?
    or a corrupted pref file?

    Not a SL bug as I'm using Leopard 10.5.8 and C1 4.8.3 will display icon only.

    This is on a fresh install of C1 after trashing all the preference files.

    I'm sorry to inform you it has nothing to do with Snow Leopard, Tiger, Leopard, Panther or any other type of feline you care to mention. You will find this is what is called 'a known bug' - as quoted to me in October last year by someone at a trade fair who freelance lectures for Phase One.

    Quite why professional software goes out of the door with 'known bugs' in it, is quite beyond me. A bit like Fuji trying to sell you film when they know the sheets haven't had any emulsion applied.

    🙄 Well, well.....Here it is 2017, almost 8 years later. I can't get the text and icons to display in my tool bar in CO10.1. 8 years, no fix?
