Missing catalgues
I have just upgraded to the new captureOne v10 and have noticed that only 1 of my catalogues has been imported into the new version from v9. It was the last one i was working on.
Has anyone else had a similar issue? I am hoping that I do not have to replicate the catalogues in v10 and then import all the images. I could be at it until v11 is released .......

The last opened catalogue (or session) is automatically loaded when you open the application.
I think that is what you have seen.
Others will have the upgrade option available when you open them - or so I would expect.
That would be the normal approach - and sensible.
You can test the theory I assume?

Hi Grant,
Sounds good in theory, the only issue is they don't appear in the dropdown list for the available catalogues. Unless I am missing something really simple, the only way i can see of adding them is to recreate the catalogue name, and then import the images from v90 -
I think I have found the solution. Once you locate the Phase One file on the HD, double click and it will then upgrade and import in v10 0 -

That is one way to do it, you can also open the application while immediately holding down the alt/option-key. This will bring up the catalog selection screen. Any old catalog you open should prompt you to upgrade to v10. I would probably try it out with just one catalog at first and see if there are any issues. You can't downgrade a catalog once upgraded, unless you have a backup.0 -

Unfortunately, I have to strongly agree with the last point.
After running a number of the betas and being generally happy with them editing a few files, I plunged in and bought the upgrade to v10. It hung repeatedly and eventually corrupted a catalogue of 37,000 images. I'm currently using Time machine to get back to where I was this morning.
I'd go a step further and suggest hanging off upgrading - or create a new catalogue for new images.0 -

Shane,
Usually when undertaking a catalogue (or session update) C1 will make a backup copy of the original catalogue (or session) so that you can revert if you need to. Immediately.
Did you check for that option?
I think if you are updating a catalogue of some size it will take a while, assuming there is a lot of reprocessing going on.

Thanks Grant.
No, I wasn't aware of the backups (for other newbies, see ), but it doesn't resolve the problem that CO 10 fell over when I tried to open my v9.3 catalogue.
I'll try again when I have a spare couple of hours, but my advice to everyone is to back up before hand and make sure Time Machine is up to date.

HI Shane,
No, it would not solve that problem - just make reverting easier and quicker.
You could try this as well.
Taking your failed V9 catalogue as a test example first run the verification process against it to see if any problems are spotted.
Assuming it gets a clean report try the upgrade again. Let it run completely before attempting to dive in and play with things.
If that works it may be worth verifying your other catalogues too.
If it doesn't - and if you have not already done so - raise a support case with the Capture One support team.
HTH.
