tethered shooting
Is there a way to have the tethered shots show up in the viewer rather than the browser? 😕

Thanks Drew, unfortunately that doesn't work. They still only show in the browser. About my setup, shooting from camera with a wifi card to a hot folder/capture folder. What I would like is to have the recent capture show directly to the viewer.
Does that make sense?0 -

Perhaps, but it doesn't sound like tethering.0 -
It's wireless tethering. Be it a cord or wifi card they would both go to the same folder. 0 -
I tested on my machine by simply copying to the hot folder. Newcomers were shown in the viewer, as well as being selected in the browser.
1. I had Menu Item "Camera/Auto Select New Capture" set to "When Ready"
2. I had one image selected in the browser from the outset; not sure if significant though.
Cheers,
Mogens
Edit: Selection of newcomers seemed for a moment not to take place, but now again it does. I recommend further testing by copying files to the hot folder using Windows Explorer, much faster than shooting to the folder. The errant results I have been seeing might be because the session somehow keeps tabs on files delivered to the hot folder. Good luck.
By the way, are you using a session or a catalog?0 -
I'm shooting in sessions. 0 -
Wireless capture is not tethering.
Tethering is a physical connection to the camera, where the camera provides communication that a new file is sent and available. This allows Capture One to select it and show it in the browser.
As Mil20 points out, you can use the Hot Folder option. However this is limited in Functionality.0 -
If you use the Hot Folder option, make sure you enabled it from the Camera menu to allow the last image coming in being viewed. 0 -
Thanks for the feedback but, I still don't understand why the most recent capture will not show up in the viewer. If I copy a photo into the capture folder it will show in the browser and the viewer as Mogens stated. I'm at a loss, any other ideas? 0 -
I finally got down to trying image file transfer by way of Eye-fi. I can confirm your findings; images will appear in the browser, but they will not be selected automatically.
So the question seems to be why COP8 sees an image arriving to the hot folder via Eye-fi differently from one being copied to the folder.
The answer might be of interest to quite a few users, including those using CamRanger for live view operation and image transfer, and even more so if a solution might be provided.
Cheers,

Hopefully Phase One will come up with a solution. I know Lightroom and Olympus studio will select the recent captures automatically. One can only hope. 🙄 0 -
My guess is that Eye-fi software is somehow holding the images. If they are in use then they cannot be accessed by Capture One.
What happens if you quit that software? Do they then show in Capture One?
Seeing as Capture One has little to no control over what is shown in a folder, the issue is likely on behalf of the Eye-fi software.0 -
Thanks for the reply Drew. I submitted a case to the support team and their suggestions have all been tried to no avail. I even tried it with the USB cable, without the eye-fi card, and the results are the same, no picture in the viewer. Lightroom and Olympus Studio has this capability. Even did a reinstall and that didn't work either. 0 -

Well in that case, something else is at play here. Not the Eye-fi.0
