Lens correction for JPEG?

Why does Capture One not allow lens (distortion) correction on JPEGs?

Case in point: I have some snaps from a mobile phone. JPEG only. And the lens correction is disabled - i.e. I cannot even manually tweak that rare photo.

Is that not a little bit too heavy-handed?
