missing lens profile

I opened a support case with them and their answer is, unless they get a lens, they cannot make a profile.

On why Phase one does not have this popular lens is beyond my knowledge.

You could always send them yours and have them return it when they are done... 😉

If you look at what lens profiles were available when they first introduced the tool up to now, they have made quite a bit of progress. You should consider opening a support case so that they have your desire for this lens profile on their radar, that is most likely the most efficient way of getting what you want.

My opinion is that PhaseOne could ask Canon to provide the lenses for them to analyse. OR they find the rental lenses to test. Because P1 is more and more aiming the larger DSLR market, even the non-professional and older ones, they really should support more lenses esp. the better lenses...

I also miss the TS lenses here...

The DSLRs that C1Pro supports are dictated largely by the SDKs that Canon, Nikon, etc put out for them to use. The fact that they are supporting more cameras might have more to do with that than anything. Consider the strain that supporting all of those additional cameras puts on Phase: they have to develop at least one ICC for them just like they do for every other camera they support. I highly doubt that Canon and Nikon are sending out every piece of kit to people who use their SDK to profile, but it would be nice.

I fully agree that the 35mm f/1.4 L is a lens worth including in the software.

Have you tried making your own? You could do the C1Pro automated LCC process and then fine tune in the rest by hand. Perhaps someone else has already developed their workflow around this method, or maybe a few people who use this lens could collaborate on this fix.

Thanks for your explanation and suggestion, MidWest Tech.
Well, despite the tutorial I feel a bit unsure of creating my own LCC 😕

I don't think LCC is the tool for creating (missing) lens profiles. Use the Lens Correction tool, set settings as desired and save as a preset.
