Controlling the counter in batch rename
Sorry probably a stupid question. I did look around the forum for answers. If I missed them please just point me in the right direction.
Im running 6.4.1 64bit
win 7 Ultimate
I follow these directions:
Select the images that you want to rename.
Choose File > Batch Rename Images.
Open the Preset menu.
Select Set Batch Rename Counter to set the starting number.
Select Set Batch Rename Counter Increment to control the increment of the Counter.
Press the Rename button.
have 54 images, and I have an additional 17 I want to tag on the end. So I'd like the file to pick up at 055 and continue on.
I open the preset menu and don't see a "Set Batch Rename Counter" to set the starting number....am I missing something simple?
Thank you.

I do not understand your post.
First, you mention the 'Set Rename Counter' (which is the right tool for setting the start value), later you mention you do not see it.
Sorry if I misread your post.0 -
Hi Paul,
Thanks for your response. Perhaps I'm in the wrong place when trying to execute this?
Essentially I have i.e. 3 images, 001, 002, 003,
I want to continue adding images and have it pick up at 004
I go to the "Naming Format" window but do not see Set Batch Rename Counter
per the directions below.
When I pull down the Presets pull down, Set Batch Rename Counter is not a choice that is available.
I hope this time my explanation is more clear
Thanks, 8lackie
Controlling the Counter in Batch Rename

Select Set Batch Rename Counter Increment to control the increment of the Counter.

Hi 8lackie,
I think I understand what you are trying to explain: your experiences versus a prescribed instruction (which I took for your experience too).
My take:
Do not open the Preset window in the Batch Rename dialog, which takes you to the Naming Format dialog.
Instead, in the Batch Rename dialog, click on the small triangle at the top right of the tool's header.
Here you'll find the 'Set Rename Counter' option where you can set the start value.0 -
Hi Paul,
In none of my emails did I mention a possible key fact. When I'm trying to add additional images I'm importing them....I'm still not having any luck with this. I think I will amass all the images I want numbered, into one file and then the re-naming should take care of itself.
Thank you again for your precious time.

Hi 8lackie,
Another take. I recap: you have images in a folder, they are numbered (001-054 for example). Now you like to add images through import and want the counter start with 055-?
That is possible from the import dialog of Capture One 6. The instructions on how to do this are the same I made in my previous post but now for the Images dialog:Import Images dialog > Naming section > triangle at theright > Set Import Counter > 055
Image from Mac, same as Windows

Hi Paul,
Brill! Thank you! It's all working for me now.
