You install must have left something behind that effects this capability.
I have found that the simple uninstall using the Windows uninstall capability leaves a lot of junk behind.
I'd try the free Revo Uninstaller before I reinstall.
    Deactivate first.

I downloaded Revo, deactivated Capture One and ran Revo. It said Capture One completely removed from computer. I reloaded Capture One and activated it.

I started Capture One and noticed the directory I want for my output directory was already selected with the default output indicator displayed to the right of the directory. I processed a file and it was output to the RAW directory, not the default output directory.

After deactivating Capture One, removing the program from my computer with Revo Pro and reloading and activating Capture One it is just the same as before.

One other question. One directory is displayed with a Heart on the right side of the listing. I don't know what that indicates or how to remove it.

    Regarding the Output destination folder:
This can be set at several locations. Tip: go to the Output tool tab (cog wheel), select you Process Recipe. In the recipe, go to Advanced tab. In the Root Folder field, check whether Image Folder is selected. Change this to Output Folder.

Regarding the heart symbol for a folder in Library:
The folder is assigned as a session favorite. See the session favorites section in your Library tool. You can remove favorites if you please.

I found the problem and Capture One is now using my default output directory. The problem was Revo did not remove all the Capture One (Phase One) files. It might have been a problem with Capture One not being loaded in my system hard drive or program elements being loaded under both Phase One and Capture One titles. Anyway I manually cleaned out the computer registry and user files of Phase One and Capture One directories and files and reloaded the program.

    Thanks for your help.

    Great.
Even with Revo running in the advanced mode, I found I needed to clean the registry with ccleaner to completely eliminate Phase One software; I'm dealing with Media Pro issues now.
