Not sure I understand what you want, so

-you simply want to go back to the first day (and first import) images, then you can select the import beneath"recent imports" in the library tool

    - you want to create a new variant for each of the first day images, then you select all first day images and menu item create new variant or clone variant and reset them. Be sure "edit all selected variants" icon is active

Or did I get you completely wrong?

That is exactly what I wanted to know. I had been looking all through the command pulldowns (File, Edit, View (especially View) etc for the proper command, but could not find it. I now see the import and selecting it did, indeed, bring up exactly what I wanted, so thank you very much!

Now if you can only tell me what to do to get the processing actually working again. I select images to process, make sure all of the settings for the recipe are correct and press Process. The process window appears and tells me I have a minute or so to wait until it is done. 30 minutes later it is still telling me the same thing and not a single image has been processed to jpg and written to disc. I have tried removing the batch queue folder in the library support area for CaptureOne, but that did not help (although it has in the past when this problem occurred previously). Nothing I seem to be able to do actually works and I was in the process of downloading the trial app to reinstall.

By the way, I am not new to CaptureOne as I have been using it since version 6, but have never seen the trouble I am now having actually getting the process functionality to work. This seems to be unique to version 9 for me.

    Mike,

I'm using Windows so take this with some caution.

9.1 seems to regularly tell me that the process queue (or whatever it is called) is Stopped when I attempt to run a process batch. Not sure why that should be - the previous batch will have finished as normal and I have not "switched" anything off.

All one has to do is restart the batch. HOWEVER if that message for some reason never appears over the top of other windows or, perhaps, pops up on another screen, which may or may not be visible, it would look like nothing is happening.

This may be unrealted to your problem - but I thought it worth mentioning.

    Now that is interesting.

I have to admit that when I have run into this issue (and I have repeatedly today) I have not looked under the main window to see if there was some message for me that did not get posted to the top. That is definitely something I will look into. I am grateful for the advice.

In normal circumstances I keep my images on an external SSD to save my main memory space, and I also write the output to a subfolder of the original image folder, so all of the image stuff other than the app is stored on the SSD. I also keep my catalogs there so, in some desperation, I changed my output folder to a fixed folder in my main memory and the process ran properly. Apparently there is something going on with the external drive. This seems odd because I have used this setup since I got my mini 5 months ago and, with one or two exceptions, it has always worked.

I am going to reset my settings so they are the same as before and look to see if there is some message waiting for me that I can not see.

    Thank you.
