    Andrew,

Your Previews and Thumbnails corrupted in this transfer.

Remember, if you have not done much work on the Session on the MacBook, then all you need to move to the G5 are the RAWs. If you have done a lot of work, then move the RAWs and the ImageSettings folder which contains all the adjustment data. Then the Thumbs and Previews will rebuild anew.

Go into Finder at your Session on the G5 and move to Trash the corrupted files in Thumbnails and Previews. Launch Capture One and these will rebuild.

I'm having the same problem. I find that the previews are not compatible between ver 3.7.4 and 3.7.3 on my Macbook.

-previews captured on the Macbook w/ C1 v3.7.4 are not viewable when opened with v. 3.7.3. on the same computer.

-previews captured on the Macbook w/ C1 v3.7.4 are not viewable when opened with v. 3.7.3. on Dual G5 tower.

-previews captured on the Macbook w/ C1 v3.7.3 ARE viewable when opened with v. 3.7.3. on Dual G5 tower.

Can anybody confirm that the previews are not compatible between 3.7.3 and 3.7.4.

I cannot confirm that the previews are not compatible between C1Pro versions but 3.7.4 was released to be compatible with the Mac/Intel platform.

Therefore it's possible that weird things happens when running 3..3 on a Intel Mac.

Why are you still running 3.7.3???

    Oliver,

At this time I'm running C1 3.7.4 only on a Macbook. The speed of tethered capture with w/ 1DsM2 makes this combination a dream. I've been using Capture One for years now since ver. 2.0. Because of the large catalog of sessions going back years I need C1 to be able to read those sessions and the previews as well.

C1 v. 3.7.3 has been compatible with all of my archived sessions so far.
This is why I still use it.

Erasing and having C1 recreate previews and thumbnails is a solution for corrupted previews. But if there is a compatibility issue with previews and thumbnails across versions this would be a huge BUG.

Another thing I have noticed and am currently investigating is an issue with the IPTC info written in C1 v.3.7.4 not showing up in iView ver. 3.1. I will have to test this more but this is another necessary feature that I have not been able to get to work yet.

This is a Known Bug on Intel Mac, and it has been fixed in a 3.7.5 Beta version.
Meta data is missing, so opening an image in Photoshop gives a truncated file warning.
The image is Ok - and once saved the warning will not display again.
No date yet for the Final release. Some are using the Beta version, you will need to create a Support Case if you want to give it a go.

    Cheers,

I just had the same weird psychedelich previews after transferring files from my brand new MacBook Pro.
It was a relief to find the solution to this problem on the forum in 5 minutes, but it doesn't appear to be very elegant.

Will this problem disappear if I install 3.7.5. on the G5 (Mac processor- currentlt running 3.7.3), or is this a problem betwwn the Intel and the Mac processor?

Don't know if 3.7.5 or 3.7.6 will resolve.
Moving files from an Intel to a PPC, should there be problems? I don't know.

In general, I think this is reflective of transferring files multiple times.
Problems arise depending on the medium used and they can arise with bad RAM.
We know that using External HDs, image files can corrupt in transfer if not formatted correctly.
The same Ex HD if not set to Ignore Permissions will not let another user load the Session until permissions is repaired.

A decision needs to be made about transferring Sessions or just RAW files to another work station.
Of course if a lot of work was done on the original work/capture station one will want to transfer this work.
In this situation, just transfer the RAWs and the ImageSettings folder and let the Thumbnails and Previews build anew After the transfer.

    Thanks.
Reason I assumed is that i
I have transferred hundreds of sessions from the PowerBook into G4s and G5s without this ever happening.
The problem occured the first time when I transferred my very first session on my brand new MacBookPro to the G5 PPC.

I guess it's not that bad - the program builds the previews very fast.
Just a matter of having to get used to chucking the previews and thumbnails.
