It takes hours to locate some folders
I am relocating some folders in two catalogs. Some folders are relocated fast - 1-2 minutes and some even faster.
But some folders take very long time - hours. The folder (370 photos) that right now is been relocated has been locating in 9 hours and the locating is still going on. The location of the two catalogs has now been going on in about 48 hours.
I do not get any information about the progress and do not know whether there is any progress. I might just be going in circles. Should I stop the process and restart or does it just need some few minutes to finish location of the folder. It is impossible to judge. Meanwhile I cannot use Capture One.
Anyone else that has similar experience and maybe tips about how to avoid the hours long location process.

After CO8 in 20 hours has worked on locating af folder I choose to stop it.
The result:
The catalog information from the 'old' folder was not moved and the information in the old folder has now disappeared.
This means that I no longer can make location of the old folder.
I really hope you get this fixed. There have the since CO7 been serious problems with locations. It must function. If not you risk to loose all your editing when moving files.

Knud Erik,
This sounds like an untypical behaviour.
More importantly for your needs you should immediately create a Support Case if you have not already done so.
This is a User to User forum and problems of a technical nature, like yours, are probably not the sort of things that you can get complete (or even partial) answers for.
Contact the support crew. They may have an answer. If not they may be grateful to have your problem pointed out in the event that it is not something they have seen or experienced before.
For what it is worth I have not seen any serious problems with moving sessions around my disks - but then you may not be using anything near the same configuration as I am and perhaps not moving sessions either. I do not use catalogs. However I think if this was a common problem (especially since CO7) we would expect to have seen a lot more reports before now.
Make that Support Case!
HTH.
