Is it possible to set the resolution of the open whenever CO opens? I have to resize the window every time.

  CO8 stores the size of the window and the location on your screen each time you close the program. When starting the program, the size and location are restored.
  
  If this does not work similar at your setup, there is something wrong with (perhaps) at the OS X level, your user profile or CO8 preferences.
