Merging one catalog into another

I made a faux pa when I got started with Capture one and my file management. I went against most advice and thought it would be a good idea to have a separate catalog for my family pictures, and a catalog for all my other stuff. Well, I am no longer liking this and realized I would be much better off having them in the same catalog and just tagging my family photos.

I want to merge my family photos from my family catalog to my all catalog. I organize my folder chronologically for both catalogs with each day of shooting having it's own folder. I do not store files inside the catalogs. I have about thirty folders of family pictures I would need to move.

Here is the process I think I will use, but there is probably a much more efficient way to do it, but I think this way is safe, and should keep me from messing anything up. If I export the originals from my family catalog one folder at a time to their own folder on my hard drive, and then import them, one folder at a time, into my all catalog I should get all the adjustments and they would be in their proper place, right?

Am I missing a much easier way to do this? If I had a lot of folders my way would be pretty tough to pull off.
