Shadow warning not working 9.0.3
Is it just me or a general problem?
I have switched it on in the prefs (Enable Shadow Warning) - but I can't get any blue warning up even when I turn exposure down three stops.

Have you tried changing the threshold in Preferences > Exposure? Does it change anything?0 -

You also need to click the the "Show Exposure Warning" button (triangle with exclamation mark). 0 -
Working here in v9.0.3 and v9.1.
The pref (Enable Shadow Warning) has a slider. What's the value there? With '0'or '1' you may not see a warning, because the exposure slider uses a sort of compression towards 0. It usually doesn't create a hard clamping at '0' itself.
And have warnings enabled, of course. The triangle with the exclamation mark in the top right button group.

Well at least now I think David has all the information he needs to get it working. 😊0 -
Thanks everyone
I had done all the obvious things, but your posts suggested some less obvious ones, so it's now working fine and I have discovered:
- an extreme exposure adjustment does not (as I would have expected) shift the histogram three stops to the left. It drags the white point back but tries to accommodate the shadows hence doesn't bring up a shadow warning (I was doing that as a test)
- if some fool applies additional black point compensation for his paper through a curve that starts at (0,4) then a shadow warning at 3 won't trigger.
Thanks again!
