A Lot of problems in C1 5

They have ruined the interface and workflow of 3.x with both 4 and 5. They seem to think it is better, I do not. I have been waiting for them to return to the good old days of 3.7 and have basically come to the conclusion they are not going to.

Looks like we have to either live with it or move on to something else.

    Hi people,

Since the Canon 5D2 isn't supported in C1 3.7.7 anymore (and the RAWs aren't even displayed), I would have to use Version 5. I used 3.7.7 instread of 4 long time because C1 has become major unhandy since version 4.
There are some intresting new features but I can't edit one file after another since version 4. I now always have to click on the next picture to edit the next one. In 3.7.7, I could scroll trough the pictures with the mouse scrollwheel or the arrow keys and edit the files meanwhile with the mouse button.
How's that possible in C1 4&5? The mouse whell is now used für zoom and with the arrow keys, i increase/decrease the setting last changed.
That all slows down the workflow extremly.

Despite that, C1 5 is going on my nerves with silly error messages sometimes when deleting files:
    - "there already is a file with that name, replace?" - In the Trash?!? Unpossible....
    - "delete not possible cause it's in use" - yeah, C1 uses it.... - on the next try it CAN be deleted.
unfortunaltey, after those messages, the compare-modus will be started with the file where the error message came and the next one. I have to click on another file to end that again.

Does anyone know how to solve this problems? I've asked this questions the support team a few weeks ago but no replay until now. I will not buy C1 5 if the problems are going on.

    best regards,
    Thorsten

EDIT: Framework 35SP1 is isntalled, I'm using XP32 and soon Win764

CO1 V4 and V5 have a rather annoying feature where mouse behaviour is focused on a window. To be able to scroll (or left/right arrow) through the thumbnails you need to focus the mouse on it first by clicking somewhere in the thumbnail window. Unfortunately if you then click out of it again to edit, the focus is lost so you'll have to click back in it again to restore it. I personally find this extremely annoying and would love to be able to restore the V3 behaviour.

As an aside, be very careful if you move to any 64-bit version of Windows. Canon haven't yet got round to producing any 64-bit drivers, so you won't be able to use the camera tethered. That problem is down to Canon, not Phase One.

That's excactly what I mean! thanks for mentioning.

You mean the "live capture" when the camera is plugged in to the PC over USB? I never use that 😊

Seems we do have to open our eyes for alternatives. Luckily the lightroom 3 beta is free for testing....
But that will be something complete different I think.
