Location of Originals folder

Hi,

in case I move all my images into the catalog of C1 theyx will move into the 'Originals' folder inside the catalog folder (on an windows system).

Is there a way to move this Original folder to another location?

The idea behind the question:
The catalog database should be on my local harddisk.
The Originals folder should be on a network drive.

  Your desired distribution is typically for a catalog which referenced images. Whether or not your "store images inside" catalog can be "converted" to a referencing catalog I don't know, but you could maybe try test it by renaming the originals folder in explorer (simulating a remote images folder) and see if in the library tool you have the "locate" menu item available to point to the new folder name.

  I don't use catalogs myself, as I work in sessions. But it sounds as though what you want to do is use a catalog with referenced files, not with managed files. With referenced files the originals are stored elsewhere but with managed files they are stored inside the catalog. There's an explanation here
  .
  It refers to version 7, but the principle hasn't changed.

  Found the solution: On a windows system it can be done with a symlink to the original folder.
