QuickProof Jpegs too big
Starting in CO 8 the quick proof jpegs seem to be compressed in a different algorithm resulting in a inconvenient for emailing file size. I do not object the image size, just the bloated file size for a quick preview.
Am I missing on something here? is there any way to control that? Any workarounds?

Are you looking at the file size estimation in CO, the file size in Finder or the file size in the Terminal?
- The estimation in CO is not very accurate.
(My test image: ~4MB)
- Finder includes the OS preview and stuff in the file size. It appears much bigger than what you really send.
(My test image: 2.5MB)
- the Terminal shows the the file size without OS overhead.
(My test image: 1.9MB)
Anyway, check
- 'Output' - 'Process Recipe' - 'File' and disable 'Create thumbnails on save' if enabled.
- 'Quality' setting in 'Output' - 'Process Recipe' - 'Basic' and try a lower value. It initially was 100% here.
and see if it helps.

Edit:
- 'Quality' setting in 'Output' - 'Process Recipe' - 'Basic' and try a lower value. It initially was 100% here.
should be
- 'Format' initially wasn't set to 'JPEG Quickproof' but 'JPEG'.
Sorry 🤭0 -
This is the Mac forum so I'm gonna assume you are sending the emails in Apple Mail.
If you are, just simply change the image size within the mail dialog.
There is a dropdown in Mail where you can choose "Original, Small, medium, or large"
This what I ended up doing.0
