"Reset Folder Path" didn't stick

I believe I found the solution. It involves rebuilding the item and re-syncing. (Re-syncing alone isn't enough.)

Perhaps I missed it in the user manual, but I've suggested Phase One makes sure any new manual says:

"After using the Reset Folder Path function, be sure to rebuild the items and sync them. Otherwise, the catalog will look for the original media items in their old location."

EM does a fairly good job of finding Media files that have been moved.I think you are asking a bit much to expect it not to revert to the original location for your media files if you completely remove the new path, while leaving a complete set of media files in the original location. There would not be a problem if the original set was removed.

I have two copies of of one particular Catalogue/Media file set which I keep in sync between a desktop and a laptop. Fortunately, when I move between using the catalogues on either machine it will automatically look at the path applicable to the machine as I select each item, or I can simply automatically update all with the "Find Missing Items" command. The behaviour you find a problem is of great benefit in my case.

In your case, try "Reset Folder Path", save, close, reopen and and then "Find Missing Items" to reset path references for each item. If both drives are showing, turn on "Union of Folder Hierarchies" and check that all items are being referred to in the new location before using "Remove Folder from Catalogue" on the old drive.
