    When they say "not all functions may be available for all platforms", it means Windows vs. OS X.

    As John Doe has said, the differences are almost always because the Operating Systems have different inbuilt features that C1 will use for convenience.

    Mostly, these days, they are really quite similar. In the past that was not so true. Also the products move in different development directions so the potential for differences of functional detail is quite high after a major OS development release.

    Phase do make attempts to bring functionality into line for both platforms when possible - but not to the extent that something useful for one platform would not be used because it is not available on the other. To have common functionality makes a lot of sense to a developer whenever it is possible.

    As for your requirement to sort by file type on import, could you describe for us a little more what you need to do?

    It is possible there may be something simple happening here that is not quite what you think it is. (Or not quite what I would expect.)
