Auto sync sidecar XMP does not work
I am trying to get IPTC/XMP changes made with external program (Photo Mechanic) to auto sync in Capture One. There is an option in the preferences "Auto sync sidecar XMP", which I have tried in both "Load" as well as "Full Sync", but it does not autosync. If I reload the metadata manually for a photo it does work, but manually updating photo by photo is defeating the purpose. It does work the other way, if I update metadata in C1 and have the auto sync option set to "Full Sync", Photo Mechanic will see the C1 change.
What am I doing wrong? Or is this a potential bug?
I am using C1 7.1.3 on Windows 8 and am using a catalog.
Thanks for your help,
Michel

I have never tried or tested IPTC/XML sync in combination with catalogs, yet. I suspect from how catalogs work that this does not work, only with sessions. 0 -
Thanks for your reply. I received some feedback from Phase One, the option is designed not to auto check XMP changes for performance reasons. Understandable, but confusing naming, and I wonder where the "Load" preference is for. I did figure out to manually reload XMP for a range of pictures (forgot to set C1 to edit all selected variants), so that is good enough to work with.
