Hot folders and Canon RAW files not working
Hello everyone-
I've been evaluating Capture One 7 for use on location with a laptop (usually I use Lightroom, but I like the Capture Pilot app).
In doing some tests, I'm having trouble getting Hot Folders to work correctly. The manual is horrible about this. There's one paragraph about Hot Folders, and it isn't very helpful. Here's what I did:
Set up a 5d Mk2 (with wireless transmitter) to drop RAW files into a folder on the Mac.
Started a new Session in CO7. Set the image folder to be the Capture Folder.
Turned on Hot Folders. Not sure why. As I shoot, images appear whether Hot Folders is turned on or not.
Only small JPG images seem to work. For anything large, I get either a weird color pattern, or a large exclamation point in a triangle appears instead (and nothing in the manual about that either).
If I had to guess, I'd say CO is trying to display the image before it's fully copied over. Does anyone have any hints on this?
Thanks!
Eric

I am not sure whether the Auto Select New Capture (Camera menu) also works for Hot Folder as it does for tethering, but check that it is set to When Ready. If it still does not help, set it to Never. If it does not make any difference, that feature does not work with Hot Folder. But it is worth a try. 0 -
Hey Paul -
Thanks for the reply! Actually I noticed this was happening with the smallest JPG files as well. I took a screenshot of what was going on:

Some images have a grey band, others show a triangle with an exclamation point.0
