Levels shadow warning not working. 8.2.2/Windows 8.1
Having reinstalled yesterday, as well as starting a new Session (which solved my Mask problems) I've just tried Levels and I notice that the shadow warning (blue) isn't working.
Before you ask, yes, Show Exposure Warning is selected, and the highlight (red) warning is working perfectly - I can make it appear with both the mid-tone and highlight sliders.
But, the shadow warning will not appear with either the shadow slider or the mid-tone slider. (I drag the shadow slider right across and check that the huge black areas are indeed 0,0,0.)
Can anyone else confirm this?
Thanks.

Ps.
It's the same with Curve.

Hi,
I can not copy this. Shadow waring is working fine here (8.2.2/Win8.1). For example, in the Levels tool, I move the lower left handle to the right to move the black point, beyond where the curve starts, I clearly get a shadow warning. Same with Curve.0 -
Paul,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I did a complete re-install again. This time I removed the old Session folder as well as the User/Phaseone folder. I also cleaned the Registry again. In short, there was nothing to do with C1/Phaseone before I reinstalled! 😊
(On a side-note, during the reinstall, as with yesterday, when asked to choose Desktop/Quick Start icons, I chose only Quick Start, but it doesn't install it.)
When starting C1 again for the first time, I chose the "I know Capture One..." option.
I created a new Session, when prompted. It's saved to My Pictures.
In short, this is as clean a reinstall as I can do. But, the blue shadow warning is not appearing. Highlight is still fine.
Very frustrating.

ps. Before the reinstall, I installed 27 optional Windows updates - the computer is set to Automatic for important updates.0 -
Sorted.
I feel like a total idiot! 🙄
I have no recollection of having to set the Shadow warning in Preferences after previous installations, but I must have had to.
Anyway, it wasn't selected, and now it's working perfectly.
Case closed. 🤭

The default is 'no shadow warning'. So, if you have done a clean up, including removing the user.config file, this is one to remind to set.
But you know now and know how! 😁0
