D810 tethering issues
Just about to tear all my hair out with this... grrr. I have a Nikon D810 tethered to a Macbook pro (early 2013) over usb3. When I use a 5 m extension cable, I use the tetherboost 3.0, which has been working great. I tether mainly in CaptureOne. Everything was working fine, until yesterday, and 60% of the tethering functionality still works. I can fire the camera from the camera, and it imports an image OK. If I try to fire the camera from capture one, nothing happens, apart from a PC signal on the cameras LCD display. Live view isn't working now either.
Funny thing is, this exact problem also happens in Lightroom, so I've sort of ruled out capture one, although I did start playing with the Capture one server and the IOS capture app last night, which initially worked, and bought the camera control add on, so I've not completely ruled it out.
I've tried upgrading the firmware on the D810 to the latest, different lenses, and different USB3 cables, still no joy.
Any ideas?

try changing the usb cable. If you are having the same problem with LR it most probably is a hardware problem. Could be the camera, or mac. Try with a new high grade cable and work it from there 0 -
Just try a different usb cable that uses only the USB2 part of the camera USB3 connector (the longer part of usb3). 0
