Previews from Canon 5DIII turning black

While trying to figure this thing out, one workaround I sort of stumbled upon is if I create a new variant, the preview shows up just fine. I then promoted the #2 variant and deleted the black preview. That seems to get the previews to show up.

What a disaster Capture One 7 turned out to be. 😡

Couldn't it have just been a setting on the files? For example, moving the Levels to the extreme "0"?
Reset image or apply new settings doesn't fix the image?

Drew, I wish it were that simple. I noticed that all the files imported from CF (using both C1's import dialog or Finder drag & drop) in my sessions would eventually turn black, even if I could see the image a few seconds before the preview was built. Any tool parameters (exposure, contrast, etc...) would go from a default of "0" to blanked out "--". The camera profile would go from Canon 5DIII generic to "none". But if I created a variant, the preview would be built and I could then see the image! Strange behavior for sure. I have just downloaded 7.1.1 and hopefully these issues have been worked out.

Well that is odd. Can you create a support case so we can have a look at what might be causing this?
Also, can you update to 7.1.1?
