And it does not address any of the issues I had with 4.0/4.1 LE

    No IPTC editing
    No renumbering in place
    No lens database
Didn't both looking at the cache issue.

And it it is phenomenally slow - seconds between clicking a tick box and a response! It takes ages to load. Process is slow- nearly 4 minutes for 1 image from an 1DS3 to a 16bit TIF as opposed to , less than 1 minute with 3.7.8.

It does support multiple output streams but life is too short.

Oh and the View menu commands bring up the wrong tool - Metadata brings up Navigator! Ctrl and Function key does not seem to work either.

As far as I am concerned it is unusable. I will use 3.7.8 for non Canon cameras and DPP for the rest.

Goodbye PhaseOne. I am away to the competition. I waited, gave you the benfit of the doubt and I am now regretting it.

    Same here...

Also...I clicked my skin tone-tool away, and now it won´come back. Infact, I can´t find it anywhere. It just disappeared...

    False alarm...

It kind of sounds like you are in search of another tool altogether....Maybe something like Photo Mechanic or other image database. I agree, it would be cool if one program did everything, but it just doesn't exist yet.

For processing raw files, and giving a wonderful output, I could not be happier. This seems to do everything well. There are a couple of bugs, like the "view" metadata problem you listed, but every new program has these. Luckily, the shortcut bar is much easier to get to the metadata tab.

As for the speed issue....Seriously, you might need to look at issues with your computer. For a 1DsMkII file, it's taking me 14 seconds to output a 16 bit tiff. Everything else, in terms of editing, is instantaneous.

my goodness.... error-message on startup.... "key....whatsoever", crash at rendering 16-bit tiff file from a700-raw..... . ctrl-4 shows "this" but should show "that"..... you're kidding... why releasing a version which is full of bugs. did not check anybody this one before releasing? this is a shame. an exepensive one, too.
    goin' back to 4.1.

You're kidding, right? A new release of a program, and you point out a few obscure issues that have been reported, as reason to disregard it? You do understand, that what you don't see, is a load of people complaining. Obviously, there are many people like myself, who don't find issues with it. So far, it will be a great tool for my business.

Take a breath and look at the bigger picture here....

If we are finding obvious bugs in 5 minutes, especially in top level menus, use then the application has clearly not been properly tested. (in my programming days I would have got sacked for releasing an application with such obvious faults)

Brian: I am not looking for a new (different) tool but PhaseOne have taken functionality out of the Pro version on which I have relied since version 1. If I have to buy a tool to replace those then I might as well use other RAW converters that don't clutter up my hard disk, work reliably and are updated more promptly. I have pro level database support - it is the front end of my workflow that PhaseOne has broken.

I was almost entirely happy with version 3 once 1DS3 support was provided despite some of the glitches. Not perfect but it worked for me. Most of the new "capabilities" are of no interest whatsoever to me.
