canon EOS 300d/rebel

Can you help me? I have a Canon EOS 330d (Rebel in US) and the raw converter bundled withi it is inadequate. I have downloaded a trial version of Capture One DB 3.7.2 but am having problems:
A: it doesn't recognise the camera - that is, the camera does not appear in the file directory.
B: if I upload RAW files to my desktop using the canon software, Capture One does not recognise them. It only recognises the JPEGs and TIFFs. The RAW files end in \".CRW\" - and I also get something else ending in .THM
any help much appreciated.

John,

You have downloaded the wrong version for the 300D: You need either Capture One Pro or LE. The DB version is only for PhaseOne's digital backs.
