Image quality loss
I have not changed my workflow at all, but I have found problems with uploading images to some websites in the past week or so. The image becomes bright, desaturated and loses detail such as the filter that has been applied within C1.
I recognise that websites will apply compression to JPEGs in different ways, but even if I am producing correctly sized jpegs for the website, the image is still failing to be accurately represented.
For example, this image is fine here
http://images.purestorm.com/z-images15/imageupload6/hulmebantam_95431568.jpg?1632557851
and on facebook
but it presents like this elsewhere
http://img.fotocommunity.com/images/Portrait/Women/Kirsty-in-blue-a27118274.jpg
Any suggestions ?

Yup, the second one is not sRGB.
Also, it looks like the second one was processed from Capture One as a TIFF with the "CanonEOS7D-Generic" profile and then uploaded to something that made it a JPEG. When you're processing for web, use sRGB and for best results don't let something else resize (like wordpress).
As per the site that currently hosts the second picture, they outline in their Support Page that;
"Color profile
A color profile was used on the photo in Photoshop. The profile won’t be transferred to fotocommunity. Please remove all color profiles and optimize the photo before you upload into fotocommunity."0 -
Thanks guys.
Appreciate the advice, and will look into that.0 -
Cheers guys, that has solved it...should have thought about that. No idea how I had managed to change that within Capture One. 0
