CO 7.1.3, Win 8, Crashes all the time, corrupts catalogs
I've run this through support and basically been told "tough shit"... My Windows 8 (full updated, validated, legal copy, etc) Capture One (also bought and activated) crashes regularly. About 1 out of 10 times it corrupts that catalog. I generally don't discover this until some point in the future after more work as been done. The result is a catalog that won't pass the "Docuement Check" and fails "Repair". Basically it has to go in the garbage and I have to do everything again (which will result in a crash somewhere and a repeat of the cycle).
I'm looking for any suggestions of things on my Windows 8 + Capture One install that could cause these frequent crashes.
This is a last ditch effort before abandoning my $400 investment and returning to Lightroom which at least didn't corrupt the catalog every 48 hours.

I'm sorry to hear you have difficulties with CO.
Can you please write your Support Case number?
There are several things we can look at, such as:
- Back-up utils
- Defragmentation utils
- Anti-virus programs
- Hardware malfunction
- etc etc.
Do you have any of the above installed and/or using?0 -
The case came back to life. Apparently they were focused on trying to recover that catalog, not the cause.
The system has no active anti-virus (I know, but I know what I'm doing in this case) or other ad-on utilities with the exception of Classic Shell which is required to make WIndows 8 the least bit usable. The system runs other applications without issue. Capture One seems to be the onyl thing that freezes/crashes regularly.0
