Erase Mask

If you are using Local adjustment layer and one of the tools that can be used as a local adjustment you can apply a mask (using a "brush" metaphor tool) in order to identify where you want the changes to be applied. You may also use the Gradient Fill method for the same purpose. (I assume that you are aware that not all tools can be used for local adjustments and that you already have a Mask applied that are struggling to erase. Also that you have the appropriate adjustment layer set to be the current active layer.)

Once you have a mask, created by either method, you can modify it using the Erase Mask option.

Note that both Create and Erase have settings for the size, opacity and hardness of the "brush" and setting, for example, a low opacity for an erase brush might mean that is appears to do very little in a single pass or even multiple passes.

If you are using a graphics tablet there may also be other factors in play related to the tablet functionality.

If you are doing all of those things as required and still see no erasure occurring then it would seem you have uncovered a problem of some sort. That might need further discussion to ascertain where the source of the problem may arise.

    HTH.

Thank you SFA for the quick reply. Now, I understand how it works. But I was confused the Erase Mask was used for removing an object from the image.
I am wondering if that is any tool that allows you to remove an unwanted object from an image?

    Thanks
    Vinny
