B&W Negative Copying

I am copying 35mm and 2 1/4" negatives using Arca Swiss camera and P45 back with Capture One 7 Pro. Any suggestions on how best to adjust white balance, as well as converting negative image to positive before processing? Regards, Robert.

  Have you seen this recent post in the image quality professor blog?
  
  
  
  It's based on Capture One version 8, and I haven't had time to study it properly yet, but you may find that a lot of what it says translates into Version 7 too. (It covers colour negatives as well as B & W).
