C1 on a Surface Pro 4

I'm thinking of getting a Surface Pro 4 for use with C1

I have my catalogs on my desktop computer and at the moment I cannot see how it would be possible to edit images on the Surface Pro while the catalog is on my desktop computer.

If anyone is using C1 on a Surface Pro 4, please could you describe how you work with catalogs on another computer
