Synchronize Sessions

There is no synchronise session function. If you import a session into a catalog, the adjustments in the session at that time will be brought into the catalog. But any later adjustments made in the session are not synchronised, and any adjustments made in the catalog are not fed back to the session.

If you want to use both sessions and catalogs, which many do (including me), it is best to use the sessions for the short-term initial work on images, and the catalog for the long-term storage and management of them. So I might (as an amateur) use a session for all the photos taken on a holiday, and within the session cull them, adjust the ones I want to keep, create JPG output and so on. I would then import the contents of the Selects and Output folders into my catalog. (One of the reasons for doing that is that I can easily then find all my photos form different occasions tagged with the name of my grandson, for instance.) A commercial photographer might use a session for each job.

The golden rule is that once you have imported images into your catalog, any further edits (which you are quite likely to want to do from time to time) should always be done using the catalog. There is no real point in trying to synchronise them.
