Media Pro is a terrific program for duplicates
There's nothing better than Media Pro for duplicates and I tried several programs. One doesn't even have to save the catalogues - just use it to sort it out and export to folder and consolidate. All this in full view.
Media Pro on the mac is way more consistent than EM - I had to stop using EM because it created so many ghost files and I couldn't figure it out even with the help of the EM forum.
So far I am happy with Media Pro.
My deux cents.

They killed one feature in MediaPro regarding missing files.
In list view I used to scroll the content and see the missing files in red. This feature is gone for no good reasons. Probably killed accidentally during the GUI remake.0 -
I also regret the disappearance of the red display for missing files 0 -
I agree MP1 is terrific for duplicats but it's not better than it's predecessor Expression Media so i will stick with that...

This feature drove me crazy and didn't work well -- Even after deleting pictures and rightly showing the missing files in red, I still had the thumbnails displaying and I had to reset the links for the ghost files to disappear and even that didn't work all the times (and yes the EM trash was emptied). I had to constantly recreate (import) the folders into a new catalogue which is not a problem if it is small but a pain specially when dealing with big catalogues. No, I don't regret that feature. I'm glad it is gone. Now when I delete I know it's gone for sure and in the finder trash, thumbnails and all.0 -

The function was designed to find deleted or missing files you did not know about. I find it a very very important function!
