CaptureOne vs Nikon Capture 4.0
I am a regisered user of PhaseOne's DSLR1-LE. I purchased it after reading all the reviews I could find concerning the RAW converters for my Nikon D-100. Nikon gives a limited use copy of its Capture software and after comparing both of them I just can't figure why the captured images viewed in Nikon's Capture just seem to \"pop\". In comparison, PhaseOne opening the same image just looks dull.
What can I be doing wrong? DSLR1 is a much better program, yet the final product just does not have results like Capture 4.
Any ideas? I have tried to match monitor profiles.

Well there is three things we are talked about here.
1. Workflow, Capture One is faster to work then Nikon Capture
2. Image quality where Capture One also wins.
But you are talking about a 3rd thing, which is colours, here we can also produce a more accurate colour, but the question is if the profile you use is a heavy saturated profile compaird to the one you use in Capture One.
The profiles which is with the software is very good but also very neutral.
You could look in to Etcetera which sells custom profiles (sold through rawworkflow.com) or try out Capture One PRO which has a Colour edeting utility where you can tweak profiles to your liking.0
