CO 5 speed issue
so far using capture one pro 5 on os x 10.5.8 on a mac pro with a 5D Mk1
i notice a huge slowdown when the capture folder gets to around 300 images
solution was to move captures to move to folder, but then you have to restart the program in order to refresh the cache i guess because if you don't, it will still be super slow.
anyone shooting catalog will find this absolutely unacceptable to have the client staring at a blank viewer screen for 30 seconds waiting for the thumbnails to appear in the browser and then in the viewer window.
i have it set to select new capture immediately, but even if you set it to "when ready" it is still really slow.

I think if I remeber correctly this is a file system thing and not really a C1 specific bug. I tech a lot of catalogue shoots and find the best way around it is to prepare a bunch of folders at the start of the day that relate to page/layout/itemcode etc and for each setup just change the capture folder. I have even written a couple application that take care of this for me one of which (jobfolders_34) is available from my site www.rapdigital.net/apps.html Hope this helps..... as a side note in the old days 😄 this was one of the tasks that digital techs did to keep the shoot following but is often forgotten when no one is teching the shoot. 0
