Whats happened to the "None" setting in the icc profiles
I now have a problem creating an icc profile for the camera (P40+) using Capture 5.1.1, before you used to select "None" in the icc profile list when you shoot the target so that you where assured of a neutral output, and making sure you set the output profile to "embed camera profile". Now "none" does not seem to be an option which is puzzling, i did notice a profile called "Achromatic Neutral" maybe this is it, any ideas?

there is "Other" -> "Phase One - no color correction" profile, at least for dSLR cameras 0 -
I also posted this issue with phaseone through customer support and within 30 minutes i had an answer!
Impressive phaseone all the more so seeing as i live in New Zealand and the rest of world would have been sleeping, maybe the volcano was keeping them awake.
Apparently the way to set no icc profile is to go to the icc pull down menu choose effects/color view.
I think a useful addition to the manual (and this maybe there but i couldn't find it) would be something on creating custom colour profiles and settings like "color view" which to my mind does not scream out that it is what is, in the earlier Capture 3 this was a lot more self evident with the "None" setting.0 -
Hey.
The technical support team are spread around the globe, so even if we only officially are open from 8:00 - 23:30 Central European time, we are in fact most of the time available 24h a day.
In Capture One 4 and 5 it is the "Color View" you should use.
In Capture One 3 it was called "no color correction" Some might have this in 5 as well but this is because Capture One 3 has installed the profile.
In Capture One 2 it was called "None", but this is so far back that most do not remember that software.
The "Achromatic" profile is for the Achomatic+ back.
A totally monochrome 39mp camera back which is produced by Phase One.

I guess C1v5 installs both "Phase One Effects - Color view.icm" and "Phase One - No color correction.icm" ? Both files are identical byte to byte except the name itself stored inside.0 -
Well thanks again, we did start with phase with an original Lightphase back so i may be remembering the "None" from that, and because i was using the latest software remembering what the setting used to be was a guess.
My point is that even "No colour correction" is a more descriptive phrase than "colour view" and that hopefully the meanings for these profiles are in the online manual or will be.
Very happy with the responses to my question and with the product.0
