Not getting what I am seeing
I have noticed that images look different when viewing in Capture One than they do we I process to photoshop. It makes it very hard to get the look I want because what I see in Capture One is not reflecting what I am getting in Photoshop. I didn't have this problem with the 3.0 versions.
I remember the 3.0 version would allow you to select the ICC profile that you viewed the image with while in Capture one, I always selected my current monitor profile and doing so allowed me to process to Photoshop without any difference between what I saw in Capture One and the output in Photoshop.
Is there a way to select what ICC profile Capture One is using to view the RAW files so that I can remedy this situation ?

Are you using CO 4.6.3 or 4.7? I found these version's preview very close to their output in Photoshop CS3/CS4. CO 4.x does use your monitor profile by default as does Photoshop. 0 -
It would be nice if 4.x could show what monitor profile is being used, like 3.x did. I don't like to assume it is using the correct one. 0 -

Please guys... bomb and spam the Phase support with this as a feature request - I am asking for this since the first beta!
Actually I never had CM problems but especially on Windows with two monitors it somtimes take some time to check which applications are actually doing it right. And in every freeware converter one can set or at least see the monitor profile currently loaded.
@Thomas: what is your output profile in C1?
And please post a screenshot of your colour settings in Photoshop and just to make sure the proof settings as well.0 -
I too get differing images when moving from CO 4.7 to Photoshop (CS2). It is subtle, but esp. the shadows have more contrast in CO.
It is my belief that CO uses or interprets the monitor profile differently from Photoshop.

I did the following test which you can try for yourselves :
In Photoshop make a grey patch rgb : 40-40-40
Save as tiff Adobe RGB
Open in CO
The color picker says the colors are : rgb : 20-20-20 !
Export as Tiff with Adobe RGB space and open in Photoshop
Values are now app. : 30-30-30 !
It also appears as if it is not a linear transformation - try with 128-128-128...
The darkening explains why a converted RAW file is lighter in PS.0 -
Hi,
I have the same problem. But on my side in C1 Pro (now I run the 4.8 version but had the same problems with previous version) blacks looks lighter than in Photoshop, I estimate the difference by 10 to 20 points...
At first, I thought it was ColorNavigator (Eizo "crappy" software for calibration), but I switched for Color Eyes Display Pro which is much better, and I still have the same problem. It cannot be my AdobeRGB output profile, because my monitor (CG241W) can read the AdobeRGB colorspace...
Now I think, but I am not sure, that the problem comes from C1 Windows version (I run on Vista Pro 64bits edition), because a friend of mine does not have any problem with his Mac and Quato monitor...
I hope PhaseOne will deal quickly, it is very annoying, especially when you are a professionnal user and you do not have time to deal with this kind of problems...
