I think I'm having trouble with openCL
Hello there!
I'm running c1 - 7.1.3 on my mid 2012 imac, 2.93 i7, SSD, 16GB RAM and 1gb AMD 5750 and having some issues that i think are related to open CL.
when opening an existing session with openCL set to auto sometimes the image seems pixelated for a long time, sometimes forever and once every 5 just works. If I turn openCL of it is slower but it works 100%.
Same thing for processing, when exporting 16 bit TIFFs i can get one every 2-3 seconds or one every 30 seconds while turning the computer into something painfuly slow. Also when shooting tethered there are moments where the rendering can take 20-30 seconds and zooming to 100% 5-10, not cool.
Is there anything I can check to see if there's a problem? I know the system is not todays top notch but it's "only" 3 years old ☹️
Also, what would be the speed difference to a new generation imac with top processor, top graphics card and 32 gb of RAM?
Thank you in advance.
George.

If we should start from the outside, I'd suspect heat-problems. If it gets too hot, it will automatically throttle down.
This sounds consistent with problems you are experiencing.
Try googling how to clean the fans first.
If cleaning does not work, please make a support-case, and we'll help you from there.0 -
Seems that after testing wit opengl on and of and multiple restarts something fixed it, for the record, temperatures were and still are within normal ratio 😊
Thank you for you time.0
