Variants question
Is it possible to RECOVER all variants when I move the ORIGINAL file to another folder or if I delete by a chance a self-creating folder done by C1 in the folder where originals exist (mean the folder CaptureOne and subfolders Cache and Settings 45).
The purpose is that after sometime I change the location of original files (not folders) on a disk and would like to have opportunity to have a preview on all variants created before.

The settings files (*.cos) hold all the information for variants. So if you delete them, you can't RECOVER from it unless you have backups. I always save my raws and .cos settings, but delete the proxies. If I need to reprocess a single photo I will copy the raw and the settings file to a work folder (with the .cos file going to the proper subfolder within) and work from there so as to not rebuild all the proxies of the original folder again.
Changing the location of files on your disc should not be a problem as long as you maintain the settings subfolder.0 -
Thank you thank you thank you
This solution saved my work for tomorrow : ))0 -
Of course, with 5.1, you could pack the files (any file) as EIP and then not worry about sidecar files. 0
