Moving images from one catalog to another

Hi.

I'm reorganizing a very large catalog and I need to move the images from one catalog to another. I expected it to be just a matter of drag-and-drop but that doesn't seem to work. How can this be done?

  I'm afraid you would have to reimport your images in the new catalog.

  Thank you. I did not expect it to be so convoluted but if that's the way to do it then so be it.
  
  Hopefully we will have a standard drag-and-drop option soon.

  My library consists only of folders: no collections or other virtual entities.
  
  If I want to export a folder's contents to a new catalog, I just click on the folder to select it, then right-click and "Export as Catalog". Easy. This preserves adjustments as well as contents.
  
  Then just remove the folder from the original library.
  
  The export needs to be done for each desired folder, which obviously creates a new catalog for each export operation.
  
  Once done, combine the exports into one catalog using File...Import Catalog.
