    If Capture One 7 is installed to the same location as Capture One 6, by default they have the same Application Name (Capture One) so installing Capture One 7 warns you of an overwrite of Capture One 6.
    If you simply put Capture One 7 in a subfolder (or move Capture One 6) then installing Capture One 7 won't cause the issue.

    To get back Capture One 6 just download from the link below;

    I have simply accepted the option to keep also the older version (not to overwrite) and CO7 has been automatically renamed Capture One 2.

    It seems to be a little bit more intricate. Since what I did was first rename Capture One Pro to Capture One Pro 6. Then download version 7. Then rename this to Capture One Pro 7 and then put it in the applications folder right next to version 6. So at no moment in time did they have the same name. Nevertheless it caused the problem.

    Cheers, Bob.

    You could also rename them 6 & 7 accordingly so that you can use them in the dock without any confusion
