importing CR2 files being converted to JPEG

I have the trial version of Capture One. In the import images screen CR2 files to be imported are showing as JPEG. If I import the images they then appear in the destination folder as JPEGs. I have not selected any option as far as I am aware to convert files from CR2 to JPEG on import.
I am not familiar with this software but have never had this problem with lightroom
Any help would be appreciated
