Delete the preference file of CO6. On next start, CO6 will create both a new preference file and the default Capture One.col50 file. It will not overwrite any image file or adjustment in that session.

Instructions on finding the preference file (user.config) can be found in KB 1134 and 1158, at the end of the article.

The .COL (Capture One Library) file is like an index. It holds information that tells the application where your RAW files are located, where they should be processed to, what your favorite folders are, smart albums, etc, etc.
The one thing your Session does not contain is RAW file adjustments. As such, if you lost the COL file it may be inconvenient but it is not the end of the world, just create a new session in the same place that your RAW files are located. This will create a new COL file and as long as within that session you reference your RAW data, everything will link up and you'll be back in business.

In that case it would seem your Preference file isn't looking in the right spot for the new session.
When you launch Capture One hold down SHIFT and select the new session.
