Metadata does not apply to new images

    C1's metadata handling is pretty casual.
    Use Photo Mechanic to do your metadata instead.
    You'll have to "update metadata" in C1 before performing any raw conversions otherwise C1 won't notice the metadata and your processed files will be free of metadata

    It's time Phase One woke up to the importance of metadata instead of losing themselves in some of the fluffy "features" they've been tipping their energy into

    I am in discussions with Phase One right now because C1V5 strips all keywords out of my images, except for some reason the last one on the list. For me (and others, I know) this is a major problem. I am sorry to say that this is the case when you add by Photo Mechanic, and would appear to be the case regardless of which program you added/add the data with, and whether it is a .nef, .dng, or even a .jpg file. I agree Phase one really does need to address this problem, but they say that it is because many programs add the info in different ways, whereas I always thought that IPTC was standard, and other programs seem to cope!
