Poor performance after upgrading to C1 V6 while connected to
I have 11 studios running C1 v6.3 and Mac OS 10.6.8 that are experiencing slow performance after upgrading form C1 v5. My photographers are shooting tethered with Canon 5D MKII capturing to a separate local disk. We've noticed that C1 v6.3 now takes 10 to 20 times as long to process out the images from the local capture drive to our SMB share. While the transfer is happening Activity Monitor is reporting at most 11 Mb/s. Transfers to this same SMB share using Finder show speeds over 60 Mb/s. I've also noticed that while C1 is open there is a constant 3 to 4 Mb/s of reading from the network. LSOF shows that C1 has hundreds of files open from this network share. We've also noticed that C1 now takes 2 to 5 seconds to fully display an image after it is taken. Any suggestions? Is there anyone running a large photo studio that must be connected to a network share that can share there setup.
PhaseOne's support was:
"Capture One 6 is not ment to process out to and external disk. Please test that it is running properly when processing to your local disk and then adjust your workflow accordingly."
Thanks in advance.

We have similar setup and results and have found that Carbon copy Cloner tasks that are run on a folder event to send the new images from the local process folder to the smb. From memory afp shares are faster, but still not that fast. 0 -
Rick, thanks for the suggestion. Question about your setup. Are you using Automator folder actions to kick off the sync or are you using CCC's built in scheduling? I ask because it appears CCC can schedule a sync only once an hour. BTW, I've switched one of the photographers to an NFS share and so far we're not experiencing the same consistent 4 Mb/s reads from C1. This may be because the NFS is empty and C1 has nothing to read but I'm staying hopeful and plan to move another photographer over soon. 0
