Back point correction?
Hi
Other RAW converters I've used have a way of setting black point. Often I would open a file in Aperture, for instance, and the black areas would be blocked out even if I raised the shadows or increased exposure or lifted the curve. So I'd move the black point slider to get a full tonal range.
In Capture One I can't see such an adjustment. Is it part of the 'shadow' algorithm in the HDR section, or am I missing something?
Thanks
Paul

Need to use levels or curves to change black point. There's no Blacks slider. 0 -
You may be referring to the "Shadow Warning." It can be enabled in the exposure tab of the preferences. There is nothing about the shadow warning in the current help files (I think); an occasional note can be found in a google search.

On levels tool there is a black point slider, which acts similiar to Black point slider in LR 0 -
Thanks. But this works if the file's darkest levels are grey. But what it it's the other way around? If the file has many pixels that are level zero. In Aperture I could move the black point slider to get these 'negative levels' within range. Perhaps Capture One does that automatically? [quote="Andriy.Okhrimets" wrote:

Have you tried moving the slider at the top left side (the "output" slider) of the Levels tool? 0 -
Besides the black point "picker" you can enter the input and output values directly in the value boxes or drag the vertical bars with the mouse. What else do you need? 0
